Accessible Felixstowe

Where to find information?
Visit Felixstowe Tourist Information Beach Hut – The Tourist Information beach hut is located on the prom, opposite the Town Hall. The beach hut is open daily between 11am – 3pm during summer and 10.30am – 2.30pm during winter. The beach hut is manned by knowledgeable volunteers who can provide information about events, attractions and activities in Felixstowe and surrounding areas.
Parking
There are several accessible car parks and designated spaces for blue badge holders located around the town. This helpful list shows the postcode of the car park and the closest place to visit.

East Suffolk Council’s new parking app RingGo enables drivers with disabilities to:
- check parking place options before they leave home, including availability
- select a parking place and be navigated to it via Google Maps or Apple Maps
- pay for their parking once they arrive
- extend their parking session should they need to without returning to their vehicle
Wheelchair hire
If you need to hire a wheelchair or mobility scooter to make your visit to Felixstowe easier, then please contact Philips Mobility. Their shop is located in the town centre with on street parking close by.
Accessible public toilets
There are several public toilets location around the town and seafront which have accessible facilities. Felixstowe also has two Changing Places facilities, more details on these can be found on the East Suffolk Council’s website.
The RADAR key is required for all locations except for the toilet adjacent to the Town Hall and the Changing Places facilities.

Beach access
The promenade in Felixstowe was constructed in 1904 after a visit from the German Imperial family boosted tourism to the area. It is one of the main attractions of the seafront. The prom is easily accessed via wide flood gates situation at regular points along the seafront.
The following flood gates remain open all year, subject to tidal conditions. All others are closed from October to Easter (postcodes for areas closed to the flood gate).
