Felixstowe Loves - Summer Weekends 2025 Launch with headliners Jazzie B and Aswad

Jazzie B, the double Grammy Award winning founder of Soul II Soul, and Aswad, Britain's biggest reggae act, have been announced as headline acts at the new Felixstowe Loves events this summer; on 15-17 August and 6-7 September.

Two new cultural weekends, in the Suffolk coastal destination of Felixstowe, will celebrate creativity with music, art and activities taking place across town and on the sea front. The Felixstowe Loves events are organised by Felixstowe BID and feature international, national and regional music and art, eco-activities and a large-scale community art project, The Wall of Hearts, involving hundreds of contributions from the local community.

August's headliner, Soul II Soul founder and frontman Jazzie B, needs no introduction. Writer and producer of chart and club hits, such as Back To Life and Keep On Movin', and winner of two Grammys, he was the first Sound System sound man to be awarded an OBE. He has been a regular on London radio since Kiss FM was a pirate, ran Motown in the UK and was requested to present James Brown with a Lifetime Achievement award by James Brown himself. Jazzie was awarded the Ivor Novello Award for inspiration; which described him as “the man who gave British black music a soul of its own”. Don't miss him playing a beach front set to kick-off the new Felixstowe Loves weekends this summer.

Aswad are Britain's biggest Reggae act and appear at Felixstowe Loves as part of their 50th anniversary year. They've been performing since the 1970s and their albums, such as New Chapter In Dub and Live and Direct, and tracks such as Shine and Love Don't Turn Around, have spanned decades of chart and genre defining success. The band have played major events across the globe and headlined venues such as London's Royal Albert Hall and Montego Bay's Reggae Sunsplash. They bring their sunshine reggae and dub music to Felixstowe's shoreline in September.

The Felixstowe Loves multi-venue events will include an art trail across the town and activities located at the sea front, Beach Street, The Triangle, outside The Alex and more venues to be announced.

The programme is created by the new Felixstowe BID Events Team and Noise of Art, with music and art events designed to involve the whole community, as well as featuring international artists and attracting a new wave of visitors to the town's beaches and town centre.

Most of the weekend events are free, but some events, like Jazzie B, need attendees to register for limited tickets. For those that wish to support future events there is a donation ticket.
